Patzún, Guatemala | April 15, 2026 — The Women’s Justice Initiative (WJI) is proud to announce it has been awarded a grant from Together Women Rise. Over the next two years, this partnership will equip adolescent girls with essential knowledge regarding their rights and reproductive health, while building their leadership and decision-making capacity. By fostering these critical skills, the program empowers girls to delay early marriage, remain in school, and emerge as advocates for themselves and their futures.
Expanding Impact in the Kaqchikel Region
This project will deliver vital rights education programming to more than 450 adolescent girls across twelve rural communities in the Maya Kaqchikel region. Together Women Rise has been a transformational partner since 2018, when their support was instrumental in expanding the Community Advocates Program. That collaboration successfully brought leadership and legal training to women throughout the region, and WJI is honored to strengthen our partnership with Together Women Rise.
With this support, WJI will help girls delay early marriage, ensuring they have the skills to prioritize their education and pursue personal goals while recognizing their value and self-worth.
