We are pleased to announce the release of our 2020 Annual Report! For the first time, our report is completely digital and interactive. The report can be found here.
The Women’s Justice Initiative faced unforeseen challenges in 2020, as COVID-19 heightened the risk of child marriage and violence against women and girls in rural Guatemala, while posing new barriers for implementing our programs.
At the same time, we have also witnessed remarkable acts of courage and impactful, collective responses. We are deeply grateful for the partnerships which sustained our work to serve women and girls.
Over the course of 2020, we directly served 13,678 individuals and provided legal services in 574 cases. We piloted new approaches to respond to COVID-19 and we launched an expansion to 12 new communities in a new municipality, San Juan Comalapa. Thank you for supporting our work in 2020. We know that the year’s accomplishments would not have been possible without supporters like you.
