Happy Spring! As we enter a new season, the work of WJI has continued to bloom thanks to our incredible staff, partner organizations, and supporters like you. We’re happy to share some brief updates from the past months.
Interview with the Tinker Foundation
It’s been over a year since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Tinker Foundation, a key partner of the Women’s Justice Initiative, recently published a feature highlighting the work of WJI and two other organizations. The foundation spoke with Elvia Raquec, WJI’s Programs Director, about topics such as the ongoing needs in communities where WJI works and our response to the crisis. We are so grateful to the Tinker Foundation for its continued support! Read the foundation’s interview with Elvia here.
A New Addition to the Team
In April, Rut Curruchich joined WJI as an Outreach Coordinator. Rut, who has worked extensively in the past on projects related to women’s rights, will be responsible for strengthening WJI’s network of Community Advocates. Advocates undergo 18 months of intensive training with WJI to serve as rights educators and mentors in their communities, thereby contributing to the long-term sustainability of WJI’s impact.
See our recent blog post to learn more about Rut’s background and her role with WJI and the Community Advocates.
