Community Advocates
As March comes to a close, we are more inspired than ever by WJI’s Community Advocates who are making a difference in their rural communities to support women and girls. Today, Community Advocates are in a workshop on how they can harness their voices to empower themselves and others. Advocates are at the core of our mission. These incredible local women have developed the leadership skills to promote women’s rights, support access to justice, and prevent violence against women and girls in their communities.
We recently spoke with one of our star Community Advocates, Flory, about what being an Advocate means to her:
Flory is a powerful woman who is changing lives in her community. We are in awe of the passion and strength of women like Flory who are exemplary role models for other women and girls. On behalf of Flory and the WJI team, thank you for helping us to empower Maya women and girls to break the cycle of violence and inequality in rural Guatemala.
